So downloading might not be killing the music industry after all. The figures for downloaded music sales over Christmas have just been released, and they put the total number of downloads in the week between Christmas and New Year at almost 3million – more than twice last year’s figure.
As required by law, X-Factor winner Leon Jackson’s single When You Believe was the most downloaded track, but Simon Cowell’s influence doesn’t stop there – last year’s winner Leona Lewis had the second-placed track with Bleeding Love. Is there no end to the power of the high-waisted one?
Next year’s Christmas top spot? Surely anyone called Leo is a good bet…
