Uh-oh: thousands of iTunes accounts may have been hacked

This looks like trouble. At the weekend, some developers noticed that their iOs apps - for iPhone and iPad - were slipping down the ratings of most-installed apps. Big deal, you might think - but the apps replacing them in the top 50 were all from one developer, someone no-one had heard of before, Thuat Nguyen.

It seems Mr. Nguyen (which is probably not his real name) has hacked users' iTunes accounts to buy his own apps, bagging himself over $1 million in commissions. Nguyen's apps have now been banned from the app store.

Apparently users have reported having between $100 and over $1000 added to their accounts. So jump onto iTunes now, and check you're not one of them!
