Twitter gets stalkier

If you’ve ever wanted to know far, far too much about the people you read on Twitter, then you’ll be happy with the news coming out of the HQ of the social networking giant: Apparently they’re going to allow you to see exactly where the people you’re already following through the internet are in real life, giving an extra bit of stalky flavour to a stalky site.

Why exactly they’d want to do this we have no idea, mind you, but we’re sure the cool kids that use Twitter will find a way, god bless ‘em.

‘We’re gearing up to launch a new feature which makes Twitter truly location-aware,’ said Twitter big man Biz Stone on the Twitter Blog. ‘A new API will allow developers to add latitude and longitude to any tweet.’ But don’t worry, privacy fans, Bizzy boy also assures us that the ‘exact location data won’t be stored for an extended period of time.’
