Ah, video-calling. Between Skype and now Apple's FaceTime, it might finally be becoming an everyday reality for normal folks.
But for the full movie-time effect, what we really want is a big network of monitors each showing a different friend from around the world.
Now that's looking a bit closer. The new version of Skype, out this week, offers a frankly ridiculous 10-way group video-calling option. That's you and nine of your friends, all jammed onto your screen, comparing nasal hair or something.
It's in beta, and a bit buggy by all accounts. But it's available!
Now if only we had ten people in our Skype buddies list...
