It's been the viral sensation of the week: the anchors of American channel NBC's Today Show - the US' most popular morning show - discussing the internet. But they're not talking about Twitter, Facebook or Gmail. The video is from 1994, and it features the hosts - including Katie Couric, now one of America's big news hosts - asking: 'what is the internet, anyway?'

All fun and laughs, right? Well, NBC didn't think so. It turns out they've tracked down the staff member who found the video and put it on the internet. And fired them.

The moral of the story? If you want internet fame, then sure, dig around in your employer's drawers. But post whatever you post from your home computer, with an assumed name...
