Shock: people don’t click on Google ads

New research from comScore is bad news for anyone hoping to get rich from Google shares. The search giant saw no growth at all in paid clicks from January 2007 to January 2008, and the number of adverts viewed fell by 7 per cent from December to January.

With any luck this will be a harbinger of terrible panic about where the money’s coming from, how anyone thought it would ever make money, and all sorts of headless-chicken-type behaviour. We’ve been there before – could it be time to roll out the dot-com-bubble war stories?
