Sega's retro porn

All gamers of a certain age will remember the days when Nintendo and Sega dominated the home console markets like two transformers fighting and stomping across whole cities: the launch of the SNES filled newspapers with whizzy 16-bit graphics, and children up and down the country got stuck into Road Rash and James Pond on the Megadrive. Aaaaah, those were the days.

Anyway, ever since the original PlayStation smashed Sega’s Dreamcast so badly it nearly bankrupted the company, Sega have been relegated to producing software only, as well as the odd combined console with retro games on. Which is a shame, as the Dreamcast was an excellent machine destroyed by the humungous weight of Sony’s marketing machine.

However, now Sega might be making a bit of a foray back into the console market, with a natty looking retro gaming console with the Sega Zone, which will no doubt fill the hearts of grumpy old gamers like ourselves with joy and wonder.

It’s relatively similar to other console packs that they’ve released recently, but it also comes with two wireless controllers which will allow you to play 16 motion control games of the sort you’ve probably played on the Wii already. As well as that, it comes preloaded with 20 Sega games, including Golden Axe and Ecco The Dolphin, and only costs £50. Consider us sold, ladies and gents.
