Report finds that social networking sites are good for business
Are you constantly getting hassle off your boss for using Facebook at work? Well don't fret because a new report from a commercial think tank has concluded that social networking sites are actually good for business.
The study by Demos found that the majority of employees use social networking sites such as Facebook, Myspace and Bebo to build customer and business contacts. It seems that the line between social and professional networking has become increasingly blurred in these cash strapped times.
The report concludes that trying to curtail the use of sites such as Facebook, Myspace and Bebo in an office can actually be harmful to business. Social networking in the current economic climate is viewed as essential to the stability of many businesses.
