Quarter one

The first three months of the year sees the release of Dying Light across all platforms. The zombie apocalypse-themed game has a January 30, 2015 release date. In February, Bloodborne is released for PlayStation 4. Although it’s not a sequel to Demon's Souls, it’s another game from Japanese video game designer Hidetaka Miyazaki so fans of the action role-playing video game from 2010 will love this one.

Quarter two

The second quarter of the year promises as much as the first thanks to the arrival of Mortal Kombat X in April. The 10th instalment of the popular fighting game gets a worldwide release on April 14 on PS4 and PS3. In June, you’ll be able to get your hands on Batman: Arkham Knight. The action-adventure video game developed by Rocksteady Studios follows on from 2011’s Batman: Arkham City.

Rest of the year

Details of release dates for the rest of the year are sketchy but 2015 will also see the release of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, Halo 5: Guardians, Star Wars: Battlefront, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and a Mad Max game to tie in with the new Mad Max: Fury Road movie.
