Pre-loaded with goodies

Sony has confirmed that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, which is due for release on 31 March (only a couple of weeks now, gadget fans) will come preloaded with six games for you to play with, of which only two interest us: FIFA 10 and The Sims 3.

They might not be the latest iterations, but the addition of such big franchises to the handset – for free as well – is a sign that Sony really are going to push the system, and try and make it the dominant force in handheld gaming (and in the smartphone field, presumably). Hopefully that will include some top draw PS2 or even PS3 games for you to play on your commute. As it is the other titles that will be available immediately pre-loaded are Crash Bandicoot, Tetris, Star Battalion and Bruce Lee: Dragon Warriors.

What we do know is that another 50 titles will be available for download on release from PlayStation Suite, which will include PS1 games and newer smartphone titles, which have been spruced up for their debut on a more powerful device. It all sounds like good stuff, doesn’t it?
