Gadgets are supposed to make our lives easier. These are tools that give us a more efficient or quicker way of doing something, but the following gadgets are just bonkers.

CueCat is the 1st weird and wonderful invention we’ve had a look at. When it was launched back in the year 2000 typing a magazine’s name into a web browser to find their site must have seemed like a difficult concept because this gadgets takes that necessity away. CueCat is a barcode scanner that scans a magazine’s barcode and the appropriate website address to the PC it’s linked up to.

Microsoft Kin One and Kin Two was Microsoft’s response to the iPhone. It didn’t work so it was pulled from shops just 6 weeks into its launch.

This next mobile phone looks like a throwback but the Motorola ROKR E1 was launched as Motorola’s attempt to tap into the expanding market for smartphones so it’s not as ancient as it appears to be. Needless to say, it failed.

If you’re behind the curve, you tend to stay there which must be what Blackberry have been experiencing since iPhone stole their market. The Blackberry PlayBook was designed in response to the iPad. As with any firm copying another, this one was rushed to market. As with any product rushed to market, this one quickly failed.

The MSN Spot Watch looks like a James Bond gadget. The device was light on features but awful-looking, and worst of all it came with a hefty monthly subscription charge which basically meant you had access to the weather reports. Great idea Microsoft. Keep up the good work.
