Everyone knows that Barack Obama's use of new media was crucial to his successful election campaign. He has a twitter account and, according to the Guardian, will to be the first US president to bring a laptop into the Oval Office. But the president elect has vowed to give up his BlackBerry.
Obama is said to have been chained to his CrackBerry during the long and arduous journey to the White House but will have to kick the habit over the risk of being hacked. But with over 130,000 friends on Twitter it will be interesting to see if Barack will have to cancel his account.
The most likely scenario is that an aide will start updating Obama's Twitter account, as it would be a bit of an own goal to turn his back on the communications network which has served him so well over the last eighteen months.
