No way. Surely not?

Now look here. This rumour mill is getting out of control. Apple aren't making a TV. They have a TV product, actually called 'Apple TV,' which gets their precious-and-oh-so-profitable ecosystem into people's living rooms for just £99. Oh, and it's the size of a box of bloody mints or something. Why would anyone want to eschew pairing that with the TV of their choice, and buy an Apple-branded set? Why would Apple want to move into the low-margin overcrowded TV market? What, we ask you, would be the point? It's not going to happen.

Unless... it is?

A recruitment ad they recently placed does kinda suggest they might be. 'The position primarily involves high-density offline power supply development for Apple's next-generation Macintosh platforms, spanning from notebook computers, desktop computers, servers, standalone displays and TV,' it says. Note the last two words.

Of course, that could just be a reference to the existing Apple TV product... but that hasn't stopped the internet from exploding in speculation, natch...
