The controversies around violent PlayStation game Manhunt 2 continue to mount. Computeractive reports that the game’s publisher Take Two is blaming a Sony employee for leaking the game onto the web before its official release – a leak that’s estimated to have led to thousands of unlicensed copies being downloaded.

But the game’s better known for its extreme scenes of violence and graphic “kill scenes”. The BBFC has twice refused it a classification, and developer Rockstar is now appealing the second decision. There’s been a fairly predictable outcry among gamers about “nannying” government regulators, but could the BBFC be right to draw a line?
