Is there no end to what designers can put in a mobile phone? This week saw designer Stefano Casanova float some conceptual designs for a mobile phone with built-in projector, removing yet another reason for anyone to own a laptop.

The real thing’s actually been built (Siemens demonstrated a working model in 2005), without taking off in a serious way, but Casanova’s new concept phone looks much cooler (and flatter, in a RAZR kind of way) – possibly just because it’s white.

We predict a battle for the soul of the mobile phone: will we be watching movies on any available flat surface (cool!), or being assailed with PowerPoint presentations on the bus (most definitely not)? We shall see…
