Online fraudsters target Facebook11:57 Tue 11 November 2008 Online fraudsters are setting their sights on Facebook in an attempt to try and con people out of their money. The Daily Mail reports that con-artists are hijacking Facebook accounts and then sending mails to the victim's friends asking for emrgency funds. According to internet security experts, Facebookers with hundreds of friends are most at risk. The scam is the social networking equivalent of the spam email asking for money and bank account details. Another tactic sees Facebook users receive a link to a video player which is actually a Trojan, i.e. a password stealing virus. But it's not all doom and gloom, Facebook has announced that it is set to update the site's security measures. Leave a comment
