Nintendo Wii increases family interaction16:50 Fri 18 July 2008 The Nintendo Wii is winning the battle of the consoles on the sales front, with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's Playstation 3 lagging behind. Now the Wii has come out tops with families. A survey by market research group GfK NOP has found that 4 out of 5 people in the UK think that the Nintendo Wii increases family interaction. The interactive gaming and inclusive titles led to 83% of the people surveyed stating that the Nintendo console has a positive effect on young people. The Xbox 360 and the PS3 didn't fare as well as the Wii in the survey with only 52% (Xbox) and 49% (PS3) of people believing that they increase family interaction. It's even more good news for Nintendo in the week of E3 2008, with the Japanese company announcing that they have sold over 10m Wii consoles worldwide. |
