Greenpeace: Nintendo least eco-friendly electronics firm14:39 Thu 26 June 2008 Nintendo have been named as the world's least eco-friendly electronics firm in the world according to a new report from Greenpeace. The Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics ranks 18 electronics companies based on how environmentally friendly their products and production processes are. Greenpeace had previously described the Japanese multinational's environmental policies as "non-existent", but Nintendo claim that they scored so low in the study low because they didn't provide Greenpeace with any data. However, Greenpeace have stated that the report is based on information from Nintendo's website. The Guide to Greener Electronics was started in 2006 to rank the environmental policies of the market leaders in the mobile phone, computer, TV and games console industries. Sony and Sony Ericsson were the best of a bad lot in the environmental stakes scoring five out of ten in Greenpeace's survey. |
