Nintendo Wii outsells PS3 and Xbox 360 in the US12:16 Fri 13 June 2008 The Nintendo Wii has again outsold its rivals the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 in the US market. According to figures from market analyst NPD Nintendo shifted 675,000 Wiis last month while Sony sold 208,700 PS3s and Microsoft moved 186,600 Xbox 360s. The release of Wii Fit and Mario Kart have further boosted sells of Nintendo's console in the US. 687,700 copies of Wii Fit were sold in May while Mario Kart shifted 787,700 in the same period. Not even the release of the record breaking Grand Theft Auto IV was enough to see either the PS3 or the Xbox 360 challenge the Wii's dominance of the US market. GTA IV has shifted 4.2m units since its release in the US alone. But it hasn't led to increased sales of the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Leave a comment
