Microsoft is apparently talking to Yahoo! about buyouts again, after their original offer was laughed at last month. Microsoft still hopes that by teaming up with the search engine they’ll have some chance of wresting power away from Google.

Well, good luck, guys.

Not to be pessimistic, but Google has a stranglehold over the web, and we can’t see it letting go any time soon.

Still, acquisitions and mergers on t’Inter-web continue apace with AOL buying up another over-priced database (sorry, social networking site Bebo) today – a snip at £850squillion. We’re pretty sure Microsoft can dredge up enough cash to buy Yahoo! at any price.
