Mozilla set to finally launch Firefox 3.5

Mozilla looks set to finally release the full version of its latest web browser Firefox 3.5 today, over six months later than had been originally planned.

A spokesperson for Mozilla told The Register that the company's latest browser would be available for download on 30 June. The delay appears to have been caused by a number of bugs found in the trial version, Firefox 3.1.

Mozilla engineer Mike Shaver spoke about the new features which will be included in the company's new browser: "The increase in scope represented by TraceMonkey and Private Browsing, plus the sheer volume of work that's gone into everything from video and layout to places and the plugin service make it a larger increment than we believe is reasonable to label 3.1."
