Microsoft's mobile web strategy

According to the boffins over at the Beeb, Microsoft is the latest company looking to get its greasy mitts on a piece of the lucrative mobile web market.

Bill Gates & Co will collaborate with mobile giant Nokia to introduce Microsoft's Silverlight platform to the mobile world of the interwebnet.

What the hell is Silverllight you ask? It's an alternative to Flash, the program used by Youtube and its many spin offs and imitators.

Nokia will introduce Silverlight on its phones using its Symbian operating system. What the hell does that mean? Well, in layman's terms it means you should be able to use the latest web applications from your PC or MAC on your mobile.

So, it looks like hours of daily fun await commuters the world over as they try to locate themselves on Google Earth.
