Lean back and press play

If you're one of the increasing number of people with a PC in their living room, you may already know that YouTube has a special living-room-friendly version called 'Leanback.' But how to control it, without s bulky keyboard and mouse on your sofa?

Why, with your phone, of course. Google has released a new 'YouTube remote' app for Android phones. It lets you choose vidoes, build a playlist, and control playback all from your phone - while the videos themselves play on your TV. There's no direct communication between the phone and the PC over Bluetooth or anything - it's all done through your YouTube account.

Pretty nifty, huh? The bad news is, it's US-only for now, but we're sure it's just a matter of time before it's global. Then there's the matter of getting it onto iPhone...
