Konami drops controversial war game

Game publisher Konami, who are responsible for water treading football franchise Pro Evolution Soccer, among other things, have decided that they are dropping controversial war simulator Six Days in Fallujah.

The game has attracted both praise and criticism, and looked like being a real talking point among the gaming community. Atomic Games, who are developing the title, say they still want to release it.

'We were informed on Thursday night that Konami had decided to pull out of Six Days in Fallujah. This caught us by surprise,' said a spokesperson. 'Development of the game had been progressing very well and on schedule. We would very much like the opportunity to complete the game.'
