Microsoft (well, a bod called Kudo Tsunoda who works for Microsoft, but you can be sure that he’s been told by HQ to say these things) have said that Kinect sales will ‘blow away’ the iPad. Which we feel is only a tad optimistic, given the way people will snap up anything with an Apple logo on it, the general lameness of everything we’ve seen from Kinect so far, and the fact that the iPad sold three million units in only 80 days. Still, you’ve got to love the man’s heart, right?
‘The pre-orders have been really strong,’ Tsunoda said at the Tokyo Game Show. ‘As far as what we're looking at for Holiday, this is going to be stuff that'll blow away any of the sales you've seen with iPad.
‘The Xbox 360 is already selling better than the Wii and Sony right now. Kinect's really just going to boost that to a whole new level. People who love playing games like the same stuff. They like games that are fun; they like playing games where the more you play, the better you get. Those are things that we're doing really well with all of the Kinect titles.’
