Killer app

A former student who shot one man dead and wounded three others after they enquired about a PS2 he'd allegedly stolen has been sentenced to life in prison.

According to the Fresno Bee, Jonquel Brooks, a student at California State University, killed 19-year-old Brant Daniels and wounded his three friends after they came to his apartment looking for the stolen console. Brooks claimed that he opened fire because he thought they were going to attack him.

Nonetheless he was sentenced to 25 years for Daniels' murder, 59 years for three counts of attempted murder and 25 years for discharging a firearm. A subsequent police search revealed that they couldn't find the console at his apartment.
