Keep it simple

OK, we get it. We go on and on and on about smartphones, but we understand: some of you just aren't interested in touchscreens and apps. You just want to make calls, send texts, and look good doing it. And preferably not spend a vast amount of money in the process.

Well don't say we never give you anything. Because we know just the phone for you: the new Motorola Gleam.

The Gleam is an unabashedly retro phone. It looks a bit like the RAZR, which made Motorola a ton of money back in the early 2000s, but it really harks back all the way to the StarTac, the very first flip phone from the early 90s.

It texts, calls, and that's about it. But it's small and easy to use, and above all it's a steal at £50 on pay as you go from (say it with me in the Irish accent now) the Carphone Warehouse.

And it does have one nifty feature - a funky LED on the cover which alerts you in a stylish manner to texts and the like without you having to open the phone up.

So if you'd rather chat to your mates than Twitter, this could be the phone for you.
