iTunes price hike

There was bad news for iTunes users today after Apple decided to raise the price of its top selling songs on the popular download service from 79p to 99p.

While companies like Amazon have recently lowered their prices Apple claims that the price hike is based on the rates being demanded by record companies for their catalogues.

Under its new three tier price iTunes will sell downloads for 59p, 79p and 99p depending on the artist's record label.
