The BBC News app has finally hit the market, after months of delay. Originally revealed back in February, there were complaints from commercial rivals (mostly over the fact it was free, giving it a ‘unfair’ advantage) which delayed the app from release, but eventually the BBC Trust gave it the seal of approval. Luckily for you, instead of having to read our uniformed daubing, the Beeb have made a nice video outlining the iPad version’s key features, so watch it.
The iPhone version, meanwhile, is more or less then same, but obviously doesn’t have quite the same expansive design. The news ticker and ability to stream BBC News live are all present and correct, and the obvious social networking tricks are there, so sharing stuff via Facebook or Twitter is dad easy. Why you would want to do that however, is beyond us.
