Ever thought about what your employer or college might think if they saw your Facebook profile? Then why are you posting drunk photos of yourself out partying when you’re meant to be off sick?
A new survey by the UK Information Commissioner’s Office has found that 71% of 14 to 21-year-olds wouldn’t be happy with bosses or tutors searching the web for information about them – but that more than half made most of their information public. Almost one in ten published their home address, and two-thirds accepted people they didn’t know in real life as ‘friends’.
It seems to have come as a shock to some that (wait for it, kids) adults know how to use the internet. What’s more, if you post things on social networking sites, people can see them! Whatever next?
