Is this the coolest iPhone accessory?

The last few months have seen a explosion in the public hacking of expensive technology from talented geeks who had the balls to laugh in the face of big multinationals and make the Kinect fly, or hack around security updates for the PS3. Best of all though, is when Apple’s iPhone gets the treatment, giving momentary freedom to those who own the restrictive device, and make it a bit more free-wheeling.

Take the video below for instance, which although not technically a hack, is a modification of the smartphone that adds something of an extra dimension to tilt-based gaming. Shane Wighton was looking for a way to beat his favourite iPhone game, so he created a robot (of course), complete with joystick as a way of controlling the tilt mechanism on his iPhone. We think he’s been quite successful, don’t you?
