iPhone 4th Gen launch date

With gadget website Gizmodo and Apple bickering between themselves about who broke the law over the alleged stolen iPhone 4th Generation prototype (on last view, Apple secured a warrant to raid the editors San Francisco home and Gizmodo had hired a lawyer to look into suing them for said raid) it’s slowly becoming more of a bore after today’s announcement for its official unveiling and launch date.

Since the launch of the first iPhone in June 2007 Apple have stuck to that month as the annual unveiling of further iPhone products, so it comes as no surprise that June 7th 2010 will be the day we see Steve Jobs gleefully smile like a giddy chimp in front of an auditorium packed with cyber geeks and mutter the predictable words, ‘it gives me great pleasure to share with you the iPhone 4th Generation – our best iPhone, yet!’

Thanks to Gizmodo getting their hands on the incoming iPhone early we already know new hardware features include a front facing camera, a 5 megapixel rear facing camera, a slightly redesigned body, the new super fast A4 processor as used in the iPad and a 20% bigger battery.

So if legal action is taken between Apple and Gizmodo, by the time they fight it out in a court of law they’ll be arguing about a phone that’s been available in the shops for over a year, at least.
