How to tell if someone is spying on your phone
Smartphones are so sophisticated nowadays that you have to treat them like PCs and behave in the same manner where your online security is concerned. Thankfully there are some tell-tale signs that your phone’s under attack that you should look out for.
If your battery is running out quicker than normal, your smartphone might have some tracking software running on it in the background. The same is true if your phone takes far longer to charge than normal. That might mean that a monitoring app is running. If you phone always feels warm, spy software could be running. When you run intensive software like games, your phone will heat up. If you’re just checking Emails and the like while your phone’s temperature rises, you might have some spyware running in the background. Don’t worry if the phone gets hot while charging though, most smartphones do that. Has your phone been making some strange noises of late? Has there been any echoing in the background? If so, someone could be listening into your calls.
If you’re experiencing any one of these symptoms, you’ll need to install anti-spyware. Most sites recommend downloading Anti Spy Mobile, a free app that’s available from play.google.com if you’re an Android user. Those with iPhones don’t have to worry as much because Apple safeguards its users by making all apps download through the App Store. That doesn’t make you 100% safe but what it means is that on iPhone, someone would need to physically get hold of your phone to install tracking software on it.
