Good news on the NBA JAM front: EA has decided that it will be selling the game as a standalone title for the PS3 and Xbox 360 after all, meaning those of us who aren’t interested in basketball simulations will be able to get our hands on the arcade goodness of NBA JAM. It also means we’re going to be screaming ‘is it the shoooes?’ at the top of our lungs at unsociable hours, but you can deal with that, right?
Previously you were going to have to buy NBA Elite 11 to get NBA JAM, but EA revealed that they had changed their minds about that on their blog, which also gives some news about NBA Elite for those of you who are interested in basketball simulations. For us and anyone else without a Wii it’s joyous news.
‘NBA JAM will launch on the Wii, as scheduled, on October 5,’ they said. ‘NBA JAM won recognition this summer as the best sports game at E3 and it’s a blast to play. In addition to the Wii version, we’re going to ship NBA JAM as a standalone product on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in time for the holidays. Watch for more news soon on the exact timing of that release.’
