Gonna get myself disconnected

Are you French? Chances are you're not. But you might live in France, or know someone who lives in France. And if that person likes to illegally download music (and we would never do such a thing, of course), then they'd better stop, as those squares who actually want people to pay for stuff are fighting back.

The French have approved a bill that disconnects anyone caught downloading illegally three times, and it's backed by none other than swivel-hipped lothario Nicolas Sarkozy. And while the socialists and communists complained that the bill was little more than state surveillance, vested interests and fat cat record label bosses were delighted.

'The bill is an effective and proportionate way of tackling online copyright infringement and migrating users to the wide variety of legal music services in France,' said IFPI Chairman John Kennedy.
