German gamer arrested over murder

A 21-year-old German gamer has been arrested by police in connection with the murder of an English student over a suspected online dispute.

Police believe that David Hess travelled to the UK and stabbed 20-year-old Matthew Pyke to death. Pyke’s body was found last Friday in his Nottingham flat.

It is believed that the two men fell out over comments made on Wars Central, an internet forum based on the Nintendo DS game Advance Wars that Pyke ran with his girlfriend.

Hess was arrested in Limburg-Weilburg near Frankfurt after police traced him through a number of postings both on Wars Central and Facebook.
