Gene Simmons under attack

Rock star and general loudmouth Gene Simmons has been the target of online attackers (who may or may not be The Anonymous Group, who are linked to the 4Chan web forum and generally like to cause online mischief) who forced both of his official websites – GeneSimmons.com and SimmonsRecords.com – to go offline.

The group, whoever it was, were apparently outraged by comments he made at a panel on how to build your brand, where he directed at the record industry for not being more aggressive with file-sharers. You can see the panel in the video below, and some of it is seriously cringe-making stuff.

‘Make sure your brand is protected,’ he said. ‘Make sure there are no incursions. Be litigious. Sue everybody. Take their homes, their cars. Don't let anybody cross that line.

‘The music industry was asleep at the wheel, and didn't have the balls to sue every fresh-faced, freckle-faced college kid who downloaded material. And so now we're left with hundreds of thousands of people without jobs. There's no industry.’
