Free Wi-Fi comes to McDonald’s

Following a welcome trend for those of us whose lives are at least half lived online, McDonald’s is launching free Wi-Fi in all its UK restaurants today. The “restaurant chain” (seriously, “restaurant”?) says it’s aiming to attract people who can’t use the web at work and want to “come out of hiding”.

McDonald’s is calling it “the ultimate work break”. So next time your eyes start to cross from staring at your screen under bad fluorescent light, you start to bloat from the pints of bad coffee you’ve drunk that morning, and the air conditioning is keeping you at a highly controlled minus 5 degrees with recycled air… drag yourself across the street and spend an hour on Facebook in McDonald’s. Er…
