Flying cars: we live in the future

Following our hoverbots and Knight Rider theme of last week, we’re very excited to hear that a probably workable flying car is on the way.

The Terrafugia Transition is aimed squarely at pilots who want convenience getting to and from airstrips. It should be flyable with a “Light Sport Aircraft” licence, which is easier to get than a full pilot’s licence.

Because the designers have cleverly started with the difficult bit – building a plane – the Transition is more of a roadworthy light aircraft than a car with wings, but still – it can drive, and it can fly, so as far as we’re concerned it counts.
