Fifty per cent of under 21s have dumped someone online

A new survey has revealed that young people have no problem dumping their other halves online. Social networking sites are the favourite way to give someone the heave-ho with the simple message "Joe/Jane Bloggs is no longer in a relationship" the cruellest method of all.

The study carried out by lovehearts.com found that over 50 per cent of boys and girls under 21 as well as 18 per cent of people between 22-30 have publicly dumped someone online either via Facebook or Twitter.

Generation Y, as Prince Harry recently found out when dumped online by Chelsy Davy, seem to have no problem using the quickest and most convenient way to get rid of excess baggage.
