Fastest texter in the world 'Swypes'

Where previous attempts to break the world texting record may have resulted in some serious cases of RSI's (Repetitive Strain Injuries) or even a broken digit or two, one UK woman has broken the current US record for the fastest text ever, using the Samsung Galaxy S' new Swype text system, the Metro Online reveals.

Taking just 25.94 seconds to text the message 'the razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human', Melissa Thompson, 24, beat the current speed of 35.54 seconds to claim the record.

The event, carried out to maximise publicity for Samsung, featured the new 'Swype' texting technique 'which allows users to input words without their fingertip leaving the screen, instead drawing a path between the letters on a QWERTY touchscreen keyboard.'

But will it work when you're texting someone about piranhas after having 5 five pints at the pub?
