They've declared war on email, but so far Facebook hasn't tried to take over the way we send non-typed messages to each other. But maybe that's about to change?

You might recall that a couple of months ago, Skype announced that their latest version would implement Facebook Connect. Much excitement was generated about Skype video chat being built into Facebook, but in the end, it turned out to be no big deal - the latest version of Skype just lets you call friends from your News Feed within the application. Big deal.

But that might not be all! Tal Alter, an, independent developer, was designing a new Facebook application when he stumbled upon some interesting code. The code 'appears to have everything needed to introduce video chatting functionality,' the developer says.

What's more, the code mentions Skype by name - suggesting that any Facebook video chat will either be Skype-based or at least Skype-compatible. Glee! Now it'll be even easier to stalk your friends - in full-motion video!
