Facebook set to use personal data?

According to reports in the Telegraph, Facebook is set to hand over the huge amount of personal information it holds on its 150m members to companies as market research resource.

Techcrunch, however, claims that the reports are mistaken. The Telegraph's article was based on an interview with Randi Zuckerberg, Facebook's Global Marketing Director. But the popular social networking site have stated that the article is inaccurate.

Facebook has implemented the Engagement Ad system which tailors advertising according to the users' personal data, but the company has denied that the site will become a market research database.
