Facebook has leapfrogged the BBC to become the UK's fifth most popular website. According to comScore's UK figures for September the social networking site has grown by over 80% in the last year.
Google, which includes the video sharing site YouTube, is still top of the pops in terms of web traffic in the UK, with Yahoo, Microsoft and eBay all making up the top five.
The remarkable growth of Facebook in the UK, the site now boasts a staggering 18.4 unique users, would seem to suggest that it is winning the battle of the social networking sites hands down. Rivals MySpace and Bebo are still languishing outside of the top five most popular sites in the UK.
