Facebook launched a new look hompage yesterday. Users logging in to the popular social networking site this morning will no longer be met with the tagline "Keep up with friends and family" and "Reconnect with old classmates".
Instead Facebook’s succinct new message simply reads: "Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in your life."
It’s a bit of a change in tune from the boffins behind the popular social networking site. In the past they described Facebook as a “a social utility that connects you with the people around you, not a “social networking site”. It is meant to help reinforce pre-existing social connections, not build large groups of new ones.”
Now they seem to want their users to embrace the entire online global village We Are The World style, which is pretty much what Facebook seems to have morphed into in the last year.
