Facebook closing in on Google in time spent on the net
Facebook is closing in on Google in the race for visitor numbers as well as in terms of time spent on the net. The social networking giant released new statistics which show that it has over 140m active users with over 70 per cent of those living outside the US.

The average user has 100 friends, people worldwide spend a whopping 2.6 billion minutes on the social networking site each day with over 13 million users updating their status at least once per day.
In contrast, Google enjoys nearly four times as much traffic as Facebook clocking up as astonishing 41.6 billion of user time last month according to comScore. But the social networking site is quickly closing in on the search giant.
