Facebook and Spotify in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G.

You can do so much in Facebook these days - read news, look at photos, connect to your favourite brands - there's not many worlds the social network has left to conquer. But there is one - music. Facebook's music offering is still pretty spotty, with even bands' public pages lacking the music features Myspace offers.

But that could be about to change. Reports suggest that Facebook has struck a deal with Spotify, everyone sane's favourite music service, to provide music within the site. The details are spotty, but it seems Spotify will power a streaming music service that works within the site - unlike the current Spotify service, which requires you to launch an application.

We reckon this could turn out to be something very simple - perhaps the ability to post a Spotify link and have it play within Facebook, much as you can with YouTube links. But it could be something more substantial. Apparently it will launch in the next few weeks, so as soon as we know more, we'll let you know.
