Eco-friendly clubs uses Dancefloor Power

The UK's first eco-friendly nightclub, Surya, opened its doors in London last night. Thanks to a concept called Dancefloor Power, the Surya is able to transform the energy used by clubbers into electricity to power the sound system.

Dancefloor Power collects the energy used by revellers through a number of springs hidden below the dance floor. The more pressure put on the springs by clubbers the more energy created.

One of the inventors of Dancefloor Power claims that it can generate up to 60% of the energy needed to run a club if the dance floor is full and people dance vigorously. So it's time to get your dancing shoes on, bust a move and start eradicating your carbon footprint.
