All about the DIN car stereo

What is DIN?

The DIN is the size of the car stereo itself. This had to be established due the manufacturing differences which lead to a variety of different size radios. A DIN headunit can be a single DIN or a double DIN. There is a third option, but this is much rarer than the single and double din and is used primarily by the Chrysler group, with Mitsubishi also choosing this option for their OEM devices.
