Cuba criticises Call of Duty: Black Ops

Many of you will no doubt have been enjoying newly-released Call of Duty: Black Ops over the last few days, tucking into the juicy historical shooting, and chasing whoever the United States deem is a baddy. However, the Cuban press aren’t very happy at all about one particular mission.

In it, (SPOILER ALERT) you hunt down Fidel Castro and attempt to assassinate him, only to find out that when you do finally bump him off it’s only his body double. You are subsequently then sent to a Siberian prison for your heinous crimes, but that isn’t enough for the Cubadebate, a state-run news website, who feel that they are corrupting children and living out fantasies through the medium of video games.

‘On the one hand, it glorifies the illegal assassination attempts the United States government planned against the Cuban leader ... and on the other, it stimulates sociopathic attitudes in North American children and adolescents,’ read the statement. ‘What the United States couldn't accomplish in more than 50 years, they are now trying to do virtually.’
